Celebrating their 15th year |
Gathering 2006
Speakers
Moire Tangye (Cornwall)
|
Moire, a resident of Cornwall for over 40 years, is a Bard of the Cornish Corsedd. She is well known to California Cornish Cousins, having first visited them in 1993. She was a member of the Cornish-American Connection Project in the 1990's and began collecting personal letters from American immigrants to their families back in Cornwall as a part of that project. The letters provide an intimate glimpse of the 19th Century Cornish migration. She will be speaking after the Banquet on Saturday night. |
Roger Showley (San Diego, CA)
|
Roger is an award-winning staff writer for the San Diego Union Tribune as well as the author of several books. He is an expert on Balboa Park--one of San Diego's premiere showplaces and a genuine California treasure. He will address the Gathering after breakfast Saturday morning as a prelude to the day's highlight event: A Guided tour of Balboa Park. |
