To Nevada City/Grass Valley

From the South: Take 99 or I-5 North:

               Take 99 to Sacramento, follow the merge onto I-80 to Tahoe/Reno.
                Follow I-80 east to Auburn; take Highway 49 North through Grass Valley to
                    Nevada City (see directions to the Northern Queen below)

               I-5 north to Sacramento; take the Capital City Freeway (50) east to 99; follow
                    99 directions above.

From the North: Take I-5 south (two choices)

    Choice one: Shorter, more scenic, slower –
             At Williams, take Highway 20 east to Yuba City/Marysville.
             In Marysville, 20 combines with 70 through town.  Carefully follow the  signs:
                   Turn east on 9^th Street to leave 70 South and continue on  20/70.  
                   Turn north on B street; turn east on 12^th Street; 12th becomes 20;
                   continue on 20 out of town.
             Stay on 20 which becomes the 49/20 combination south of Grass Valley,
                   continue through Grass Valley to Nevada City (see directions to the
                   Northern Queen below)

    Choice Two: Longer, faster, less scenic –
            I-5 south to I-80 just north of Sacramento (and just south of the Arco
                  Arena). Take I-80 east to Tahoe/Reno (bypasses Sacramento)
            I-80 east to Auburn; take Highway 49 north through Grass Valley to
                  Nevada City (see directions to the Northern Queen below)

From the West (Bay Area): I-80 east

       Take I-80 East to Sacramento; follow the signs around Sacramento;
       Take I-80 east to Tahoe/Reno, follow I-80 east to Auburn; take Highway 49 North
           through Grass Valley to Nevada City (see directions to the Northern Queen below)

From the East: I-80 west

   Take I-80 west from Reno to the Highway 20 exit at Yuba Pass
   Follow 20 west to Nevada City (see directions to the Northern Queen below)

At Nevada City (To the Northern Queen)

Take Railroad Ave/Sacramento St. exit.  Immediately turn right (almost a U-turn) onto Railroad Ave.  The Northern Queen is straight ahead.  Directions from the Northern Queen to the Elks Club.
